Coreholders

X-Ray Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: TXC

The TXC Series core holders are standard hydrostatic type core holders. The x-ray core holder is used for gas and liquid permeability testing with in situ saturation monitoring. The core holder uses titanium body which is made from titanium to avoid important loss of X-ray. Spiral fluid distribution grooves on core inlet are incorporated to minimise capillary end effects. The coreholder can be provided with an heating system which heats the confining fluid through the annular confining chamber for optimal temperature homogeneity.

Core Holder Heating System

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: HES

The electrical heating system can be provided to heat and maintain homogeneous temperature in the core sample. The heating jacket fits the shape of the coreholder in order to provide the highest heat efficiency. A digital temperature controller is used to enter, display and regulate the temperature . A thermocouple probe is used to measure the temperature of the coreholder body.

Electrical Isolator

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: EI-700

The EI 700 is designed to electrically isolate one side of a core holder from the other when placed in a non-conductive fluid stream. It can be used for reservoir condition electrical properties during a relative permeability or a capillary pressure displacement test.

Core Holder Stand

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: STA

A number of stands are available depending on the End user’s requirement. Simple to most complicated designs can be proposed. The stand can be mounted inside or outside of the airbath. The stand can also be configured in a bench top or bench floor version.

Electrical Properties/Capillary Pressure Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: ECP

The ECP Series core holders are standard hydrostatic type core holders. These core holders are routinely used for electrical resistivity and capillary pressure at reservoir conditions. The coreholders feature both water wet and oil wet porous ceramics placed between the flow distribution plugs and the core sample. Two electrodes have been molded directly into the sleeves and are used to measure the resistivity of the sample. They are provided with metal ring placed into the sleeve along the core length at one inch spacing between the rings. The other two electrodes are in contact with the distribution plugs which are electrically isolated from the rest of the coreholder.

NMR Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: NMR

The NMR Series core holders are hydrostatic type core holders in which radial and axial confining pressures are common. These core holders are used for MRI imaging. The coreholder includes a composite body in which a PEEK liner has been inserted. Two floating pistons maintain the sleeve in place. For variable length cores, this design insures solid contact between the platen and core sample. To change a core sample the confining fluid must be drained off. After removal of the two platens from the sleeve the core can be withdrawn. Loading a new core sample is carried out in the reverse order. An optional heating recirculation pump is also available for this series.

Accoustic Velocity Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: AVC

The AVC Series core holders are standard triaxial type core holders in which radial and axial loading are independent. These core holders are routinely used for acoustic velocity measurement at reservoir conditions. The coreholder features a pair of acoustic transducers that propagate compressional and two plane-polarized shear waves through the core sample. The triaxial loading insures a proper surface contact between the transducer and the core. An inlet and outlet distribution plug allows fluids to be injected through the core sample. The coreholder does not need to be completely disassembled to remove the core sample. A tool permits to orientate easily the P&S1,S2 transducer before the acoustic velocity measurement takes place.

Quick-Release Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: QRC

The QRC Series core holders allows for the core to be loaded without the complete disassembly of the coreholder. The core loading is achieved using an innovative ¼ turn fast release bayonet mechanism. The coreholder is configured for hassler loading. The sleeve remains in place and the core is loaded from one end without having to drain/refill the confining fluid which can be nitrogen or hydraulic oil. This avoids damage to the sleeve which can occur with assembly and disassembly. Operation is much easier and quicker and leads to higher throughput when tests of short duration are being carried out.

Pressure-Tapped Leakoff Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: PT-LEC

The PT-LEC Series core holders are mainly used for static and dynamic filtration tests so as to study erosion effects induced by the fluid flowing across the core face which contains proppant and other particulates. The coreholder is equipped with a number of pressure taps molded in the sleeve at discrete locations required by the end user. This design allow to monitor the pressure drop along the length of the core sample during fluid flow tests. The coreholder features a special head that allows the upper face of the core sample to be exposed to invasion fluids. The fluids can be injected from both ends of the core holder then simulating the wellbore and the reservoir side.

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: LEC

Pressure-Tapped Triaxial Core Holder

Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: PT-TRC

The PT-TRC Series core holders are triaxial type core holders which are equipped with a number of pressure taps molded in the sleeve at discrete locations required by the end user. This design allows to monitor the pressure drop along the length of the core sample during fluid flow tests. These core holders are routinely used for fluid flow experiments. A unique feature of the TRC series core holder is that the sleeve remains in place and the core is loaded from one end without having to drain or refill the confining fluid. Independent axial pressure is applied via a floating distribution plug. An inlet and outlet distribution plug allows fluids and gases to be injected through the core sample. A unique feature of the TRC Series core holder is that the holder does not need to be completely disassembled to remove the core sample. By releasing the confining radial and axial pressure and unscrewing the eng plug, the core sample can be easily removed without exposing it to the annulus fluid. The coreholder can be configured for hassler loading, hydrostatic loading or triaxial loading.
