Gas Hydrates Autoclave System

The GHA series is a mercury free cell designed to (1) study gas hydrate formation and dissociations, (2) measure the induction time for formation of hydrates by monitoring the pressure drop as a function of time during hydrate formation and (3) take video pictures during the experiments. The system consists of a constant volume hydrate cell with a 250 cc volume and pressure rating up to 3,000 psi. The cell temperature is controlled by an thermostatic bath. A thermocouple measures the temperature of the cell with an accuracy of 0.1°C. The cell pressure is monitored by a pressure transducer. A magnetic stirrer with adjustable rotation speed is used to agitate the test fluids. A computer is used for data acquisition of temperature and pressure versus time. The cell is also equipped with a stethoscopic camera to take pictures.

The mercury free HydrevalT analyser is designed for the determination of hydrates formation and dissociation conditions as well as the evaluation of hydrates inhibitor. The instrument provides four different methods to study hydrates phenomena : (a) isochoric method (constant volume), isobaric method (constant pressure) , isothermal method (constant temperature) and visual method. The apparatus features a fully visual cell allowing for 360° visibility from top to bottom of the sample and two floating piston accumulators used to store the gas and liquid samples to be tested.

Fluid Eval for HP-HT Visual Studies

The bench top visual Fluid-Eval is mainly designed for the study of thermodynamic properties and phase behaviour of multiphase sample such as black oil samples, gas condensates, gas hydrates and supercritical fluids at reservoir conditions of pressure and temperature. It offers full visibility of the sample during phase behaviour experiments. The system consists of a piston cell equipped with pressure, temperature and volume measurement facilities, electrical heating system, high torque magnetic driven stirrer and video camera to monitor through a front side sapphire window the phase behaviour of the sample. The cell also features a cooling jacket connected to a cooling bath to keep the sample at sub-ambient temperature. A high pressure pump is also provided to keep the sample at the test pressure.
