Manufacturer: Vinci Technologies
Model Number: AUTOIMBIB
The imbibiometer is an automated system that performs and monitors spontaneous imbibition and drainage processes, on up to ten rock samples simultaneously. Fluid production data collected during the experiment allows the determination of expelled fluid volumes, hence saturation. Ten Amott cells containing saturated samples immersed in the displacing phase are placed on a fixed stand where a high-resolution camera mounted on a linear actuator automatically tracks the position of the fluid interfaces. The water/oil interface height in each burette is incrementally recorded in the computer at specified time intervals. The corresponding volume is automatically calculated by a Vinci proprietary software. Video retrieval facilities permit an accelerated visualization of the processes. Moreover, an isothermal air bath can be integrated into the apparatus to warrant high-temperature experiments.
