The pressurized foam rheometer Rheo F400 is a fully automated pipe rheometer whose sole purpose is to measure the rheological properties of foamed fluids under specified pressure and temperature conditions, over a wide range of foam qualities, shear rates and shear stresses. The system incorporates three high-pressure, high-temperature syringe pumps utilized for base fluid injection and foamed fluid collection. Different pressure-rated transducers are implemented to amplify the scope of shear stress measurements. Foamed fluid flow and shear rates are evaluated by means of a Coriolis mass flow meter. The shear loop is contained within an isothermal air bath enabling complete temperature control of the loop’s internal components. Moreover, a high-pressure, capillary sight glass cell and an image capturing system permit continuous, visual observation and analysis of the foaming phenomenon. A Vinci software grants the operator control over parameters such as foam quality, shear rate, shear stress, test duration & conditions (pressure, temperature).
